About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for multiple, full-time Millwrights, based in Thunder Bay, ON.

As a highly skilled Millwright, you will focus on the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Viterra’s operations. You will be proficient in a wide range of duties involving the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of machinery and related devices and systems.

Following your thorough orientation, which will be scheduled from {Monday to Friday, day shift}, you will transition to a weekly rotation shift pattern. This rotation covers both the day shift (8 AM to 4 PM) and the evening shift (4 PM to 12 AM) from Monday to Friday.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting routine preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment as per established schedules, codes, and procedures
  • Troubleshooting, fabricating, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment using established procedures
  • Performing precise alignments within industry-set standards
  • Utilizing plasma cutting tools and welding equipment effectively
  • Collaborating with other Maintenance and Electrical team members as needed
  • Adhering to health, safety, and fire prevention regulations and practices

More About You

To qualify for this role, you must have your Red Seal Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification. You must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial setting or comparable service work in the industry.

The following skills and experience will be strong assets:

  • Proficiency in industrial machinery, including grain handling and cleaning equipment 
  • Experience with conveyor and material handling equipment 
  • Proven knowledge of industrial, elevator, and cleaning systems
  • Strong safety record and expertise in health and safety policies
  • Demonstrated skill in welding (TIG, MIG, ARC, Plasma, Torch), rigging, and mobile equipment operation
  • Ability to interpret diagrams and schematic drawings for work procedures
